BECKLEY, W.Va. (WVNS) – A Beckley school receives donations for tornado victims in Kentucky after tornadoes devastated multiple states.
The Beckley Academy for Career and Technology (ACT) accepts donations and supplies for those affected by Kentucky’s recent tornadoes. ACT has partnered with Southern Communications to raise supplies for the victims.
They call for clothing for adults and children, blankets, coats, and long-life groceries.
Once all donations are received, students and a teacher set out on the ten hour drive to drop off the donations in Western Kentucky. Charles Pack, director of ACT, said he hopes they can make the trip before Christmas.
“When we heard the news, we had some inquiries about how we could help and this is one of the things our school can do to help. We have a truck driving school. We have students willing to travel with a teacher so we can take the supplies with us and hopefully provide some relief for the community, ”said Pack.
