BACK TO SCHOOL: Pandemic technology changes helping Wichita Public Schools for the future

Rob Dickson, Wichita Public Schools’ chief information officer, said, “You know, we’ve learned a lot over the past year by providing one-to-one devices for every student to provide internet access to over 14,000 families.”

The one-on-one devices have been a necessity due to the pandemic and virtual learning. However, they will play a huge role in every student’s education this year too.

“If you want to do research or learn a new skill that might help you learn a math problem or something related, you can use the resources on the Internet,” said Dayne Smokorowski, the district’s digital literacy coordinator.
