China dismisses U.S. accusation of global hacking campaign

BEIJING, July 20 (Reuters) – China said Tuesday that allegations by the United States and its allies that the Chinese government had carried out a global cyber hacking campaign were unfounded.

State Department spokesman Zhao Lijian said the allegations were politically motivated slander and the United States had not produced enough evidence.

The United States and its allies on Monday accused China of a global cyber espionage campaign and brought together an unusually broad coalition of countries to publicly urge Beijing to hack. Continue reading
