CSG Partners with Cape Innovation & Technology Initiative to Empower Female ICT Entrepreneurs to Defy Social Norms in South Africa

CSG® (NASDAQ: CSGS) today announced new growth in its partnership with. famous Cape Innovation and Technology Initiative (CiTi), one of the oldest technology incubators in Africa, to the organization Women in business Nationwide program as part of CSG South Africa’s commitment to making technical skills accessible and Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE).

The Women in Business program helps women entrepreneurs implement and adopt digital platforms and programs that enhance their technological skills to drive business growth and promote inclusion. This year, 30 women information and communication technology (ICT) entrepreneurs will take part in a ten-week course before three finalists will be selected to participate in a ten-month entrepreneurship program that offers opportunities to connect with women in leadership positions at CSG.

“Creating space for women and underrepresented voices across the innovation and technology ecosystem is critical to driving economic impact in our communities and diversifying the tech talent pipeline,” said Channing Jones, chief diversity and social responsibility Officer, CSG. “We strive to support work that builds capacity and provides access to leadership skills that are critical to being successful in entrepreneurship to foster a more inclusive economy. CSG is proud to partner with Cape Innovation & Technology Initiative to expand the Women in Business program across the region. “

CiTi was founded in 1999 and works at the interface between business, government and society. Their mission is to build a sustainable, inclusive community and shape the future economy through innovation and technology. CiTi’s Women in Business initiative is a flagship program for the strategic support and development of women entrepreneurs. More than 1,700 women have completed the program and over 1,500 more have applied.

“In Africa, women entrepreneurs defy social norms in the face of systemic barriers such as limited access to finance, insufficient scaling and challenges in balancing work and private life,” said Lara Rosmarin, head of incubation and entrepreneurial development at Cape Innovation & Technology Initiative. “With the Women in Business program, we help women overcome these hurdles with strategic support, mentoring, peer-to-peer learning and networking opportunities that enable them to assert themselves in the face of tough competition and to be successful . With the support of CSG, we are excited to be taking nationwide inquiries and providing women business owners across South Africa with the powerful tools they need to grow their businesses. “

The program is open for submissions from Wednesday, July 28, 2021 to Thursday, August 12, 2021.
