GSA unveils first block of STARS III award winners

New 8 (a) IT contract for small business

The General Services Administration has made an initial cut of 426 awards for the next iteration of their popular STARS vehicle for acquiring IT services and solutions from 8 (a) small businesses.

GSA will award further bids beyond this first block of STARS III, as discussions with the remaining bidders will take place this summer, the agency announced on Thursday. Revised final proposals and their evaluations are also pending. The contract vehicle is valued at $ 50 billion over 15 years.

Some of the emerging technologies GSA is interested in for this version of its Streamlined Technology Acquisition Resource for Services vehicle include artificial intelligence, blockchain and robotic process automation.

Pending possible protests, the GSA plans to notify the first group of award winners within the next 30 days that they would at least open the contract to the business.

Announcements regarding the competitive offer for STARS III were sent to these companies first who cleared this bar in May.
