GTA 6 Next-Gen Technology Teased by Rockstar Games

According to most reports GTA 6 Release date is several years away and as long as stated Red Dead Redemption 2 took Rockstar Games to make this is not very surprising. Rockstar Games used to release and release games at a breakneck pace GTA 3, GTA Vice city, and GTA San Andreas between 2001 and 2004. Today’s Rockstar Games take more time to release a single game. Why? Well, because its games are now pushing design boundaries and the hardware they run on, which is why they are considered the leading developer in the industry.

To that end, during a recent GDC 2021 presentation, Rockstar Games teased that it was exploring machine learning approaches. What exactly will that mean GTA 6 and future releases are hard to tell, but judging from the presentation, it sounds like Rockstar Games is studying this technology primarily in the context of AI, an area of video game development that has not seen any significant improvements recently.

To put that investigation into perspective, during the same presentation, Rockstar Games revealed that horses have over 3,000 animations in 23 unique movement styles. That’s a lot of work for the animation team, but it doesn’t sound like the climax for Rockstar Games, it sounds like the tip of the iceberg, which is why they are exploring machine learning because there is no way there is ever going to be any way Realizing animation team able to do the work done on the horses RDR2 and apply it to the entire game.

What are the effects for the time being GTA 6 remains to be seen, but it sounds like Rockstar Games is raising the bar again after helping to raise it in 2018 Red Dead Redemption 2which remains the benchmark for game design and technical performance. That is, this presupposes GTA 6 will be the developer’s next game. Of course, this is a very safe assumption, but it is an assumption nonetheless. As far as we know, Rockstar Games is being revived Table tennis.
