JetBlue Promotes Amy Burr to President, JetBlue Technology Ventures

NEW YORK–() – JetBlue (NASDAQ: JBLU) announced today that Amy Burr has been named president of the company’s wholly owned venture capital subsidiary, JetBlue Technology Ventures (JTV).

Burr has been with JetBlue since 2018 as Managing Director of Operations and Partnerships at JTV, where she has built an ecosystem of partners and uses for the many technologies of JTV’s portfolio companies.

As head of JTV, Burr will shape the strategic direction of JetBlue’s venture investments and facilitate the integration of successful startup programs into the airline’s broader innovation initiatives. She reports to Brandon Nelson, JetBlue’s General Counsel and Corporate Secretary who also serves as JTV’s oversight officer. Nelson helped found JTV in 2016 and has served as chair of the subsidiary’s investment committee for the past several years.

Burr has been a leader in developing, sourcing, and implementing innovative travel technology for 21 years. As the original founder of Virgin America in 2004, she worked in areas such as strategy, corporate program management, and commercial and sales development. She ended her time with the company as head of merger integration with Alaska Airlines.

Burr succeeds Bonny Simi, founder and president of JTV from 2016-2020. Simi served JetBlue in a variety of roles including Pilot, Director, Customer Service, and Vice President, Talent for 18 years. She joined the JTV portfolio company Joby Aviation in December 2020 as Head of People and Operations and will remain a consultant to the JTV team.
