Kochi: Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) has launched a novel initiative as part of its flagship IEDC (Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Center) program that aims to provide student innovators and institutions with a playful learning platform on which they can explore and explore unconventional ideas can experiment with them.
The venture, named Innovators Premier League (IPL) 2021, comes following the announcement by Prime Minister Pinarayi Vijayan last weekend at the inauguration of a digital hub in the integrated startup complex of the KSUM in Kalamasery.
The league, which began September 18, will see activity in three different areas – innovation, technology and entrepreneurship, according to a press release from Startup Mission.
“The IPL extends over four months and offers hackathons, ideathons, innovation fairs, startup bootcamps and iTalks among other challenges. The IPL will enable KSUM to identify and promote 1,000 talented student innovators from Kerala and help build a company around to support their ideas. “it said.
Participating student innovators and IEDCs will receive innovation reward points that can be redeemed at the IEDC summit that will take place next January.
The top 100 innovators selected during this four-month IPL and top 100 innovators will receive innovation grants.
KSUM will support 1,000 best innovators through mentoring, incubation business connect and funding of the 100 best innovators, said KSUM.
In addition, the 100 best innovator products will be presented at the IEC summit.
IPL aims to promote awareness and awareness of the IEDC, encourage activity among students, build a competitive entrepreneurial mindset among innovators, and create a stronger pipeline of startups.
“IPL will run competitions for students and other talent in institutions, first at the college level, then at the regional level. These are carried out under three main pillars: innovation, technology and entrepreneurship. Achieve points through the implementation of bootcamps, workshops, startup generation and patents in different categories, ”the press release said.
This IPL is slated to end on December 30th this year, and a handful of the winners will connect with business tycoons and ecosystem enablers at the next IEC summit.
KSUM, founded in 2006, is the state hub agency for entrepreneurship development and incubation activities and was primarily intended to establish and operate a Technology Innovation Zone as a global innovation incubator hub for various technology sectors.
