To take the next step and offer existing and new customers technologies of the next generation, OTSAW Technology Solutions and Swisslog Healthcare have agreed to establish a joint venture (JV) – OTSAW Swisslog Healthcare Robotics.

OTSAW Technology Solutions is a Singapore-based supraregional company specializing in autonomous mobile robot solutions. The company’s mobility skills include 3D SLAM, Level 5 autonomous driving, sensor fusion, AI, machine learning and fleet software. This know-how paired with extensive knowledge in hardware and software development enables the JV to introduce the next generation of AGV solutions in hospitals.

In addition to its implementation and service strengths in AGV equipment, Swisslog Healthcare will contribute its know-how about healthcare facilities in various markets in order to professionally install systems and maintain existing and new systems.

“We are proud to have OTSAW as a partner with a passion for technological advancement and a shared vision for better patient care. I am particularly impressed with OTSAW’s agile, focused approach and its collaborative spirit, which always puts the customer’s needs first. I’m already looking forward to deploying the next generation of AGVs in EMEA and APAC hospitals and delivering tangible value to our existing customers, “said Stephan Sonderegger, CEO Swisslog Healthcare.

Ling Ting Ming, CEO of OTSAW, added: “We are seeing healthcare systems around the world as clinical professionals in hospitals are increasingly becoming a scarce and critical resource. Forecasts also assume that this situation will not change in the medium term. Awareness of this challenge has increased with the global Covid-19 pandemic and has led to a growing desire in our company to use our technological know-how to make a contribution to relieving the burden on nursing staff. That we are entering into a partnership with Swisslog Healthcare with which we can increasingly bring our know-how into the health sector, is not only important for OTSAW from a business point of view, but also a matter close to our hearts. “

As part of the JV, in which OTSAW holds a 60 percent majority stake, the technology company is taking on the further development of the existing TransCar AGV technology. Swisslog Healthcare is entrusted with the continuous support of existing systems and projects with the aim of maximum customer satisfaction.

The contractual agreement was officially signed November 16 in Augsburg, Germany, and therefore the JV will be operational from December 1, 2021.
