NEW YORK and MUNICH, November 16, 2021 / PRNewswire / – Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. today announced a collaboration to bring the latest advances in driver assistance technology and products to its Snapdragon Ride™ Platform up to the next generation of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and platforms for automated driving (AD) from the BMW Group. By leveraging the expertise of both companies in the field of core innovations, the BMW Group and Qualcomm Technologies will expand their longstanding relationship to offer safe, intelligent and sophisticated driving experiences for BMW Group vehicles. The next generation of BMW’s Automated Driving Stack will be based on the Snapdragon Ride Vision System-on-Chip (SoC), Vision Perception and ADAS Central Computing SoC Controllers managed by Qualcomm® Car-2-cloud service platform.
The BMW Group has been an industry leader in driver assistance innovation for over two decades. In an effort to further expand a broad portfolio of driver assistance systems, the BMW Group will use Qualcomm Technologies to implement a full range of ADAS / AD functions, including front, rear and surround camera computer vision, in a dedicated computer Provide Vision SoC as a powerful ADAS Central Compute Controller to host BMW’s driving policy and other planning and driving functions.
