Geospatial data company appoints new head of the public sector

The geodata company Matterport has hired the almost 25-year-old federal market veteran Seth Finkel as Vice President of the public sector in order to further promote the introduction of digital twin technologies by authorities.

Finkel comes to Matterport because the company is pursuing opportunities related to the digitization of federal institutions and other infrastructure elements.

In a press release on Wednesday, Matterport said it is also working on developing a new cloud-enabled service for government agencies to manage their infrastructure resources and associated data through the use of digital twins that act as the real-time counterparts of a physical object or process are designed.

Most recently, Finkel was Vice President of Advanced Technology at Amentum and also held managerial positions at the predecessor companies AECOM and URS. He led efforts to incorporate technologies and techniques that include advanced and predictive analytics, sensors and IoT-based intelligent maintenance, supply chain management, process automation and transformed training.

He is also a former Senior Vice President, Managed Services and General Manager of the Government Sector at Carpathia.
