St. Petersburg Maritime Defense technology hub moving to waterfront property

Other technology Hub comes to St. Pete‘s innovation district.

An empty building on the city’s waterfront, next to the US Coast Guard station, is to become the St. Petersburg Maritime Defense Tech Hub.

Several companies from the defense sector will work together.

Alison Barlow, director of St. Pete’s Innovation District, says this is another example of more tech jobs coming to town.

“It touches the Department of Defense. It touches NOAA, it touches the Department of Homeland Security and the Coast Guard,” Barlow told FOX 13 on Monday.

The center for maritime defense technology in St. Petersburg will be operational by January.
