NEW DELHI: Tarun Katial, former Chief Executive Officer of the video streaming platform ZEE5, and Keertan Adyanthaya, former Head of Content and Communication at The Walt Disney Co. for APAC (Asia and Pacific) in Hong Kong, have teamed up to Serendipity to launch Media Technology, an AI (Artificial Intelligence) based platform for writers, producers and entertainment companies.
The service helps writers with insights and tips on how to improve their scripts, and provides timelines on current events that could lead to interesting stories and the characters they contain. At a later point in time, the platform will also have critics on board who rate and evaluate scripts sent in by authors and production houses.
That information and insights, in turn, will help them craft content that will suit broadcasters or other platforms, that will allow producers to filter stories based on relevance and give the platforms a deep understanding of the audience’s minds, the company said in a statement. .
The platform is expected to go live in mid-July, initially rolled out in India and then rolled out in global markets such as the US and UK.
“We are pleased to announce the start of our new company. Our goal is to provide authors with tools that facilitate content creation through a structured approach and AI support, “Katial said in a statement.
Adyanthaya said the platform will empower and enable content creation, not just help better understand audiences. “It will help us deliver sharply defined content with a higher success rate to everyone in the value chain,” he said.
Several video streaming platforms such as Netflix and Amazon Prime Video as well as Bollywood production houses have set up their own author rooms at least for web shows to make it easier for talented writers to enter the entertainment ecosystem.
