Vow ASA (OSE: VOW), through its subsidiary ETIA, has received an order to supply French recycling leader PAPREC and Bianna Recycling with an artificial intelligence (AI) robotic sorting system. The order value is EUR 0.3 million.
“This important achievement by our ETIA team is a breakthrough for our land-based robotic waste sorting technology and an important step in building a circular waste recovery economy in France,” said Henrik Badin, CEO of VOW ASA.
Bianna Recycling is the engineering, procurement and construction company for Paprec’s La Courneuve recycling plant in northern France. The AI-powered robot sorts demolition material, mainly wood and concrete.
The unit called Ascodero Intelligent Robotic Sorting System (AIRSS) detects and sorts 1000 units / h of wood and concrete waste in a flow of 1400 kg / h of various materials.
The market for waste sorting of construction and demolition materials in France is large. In 2020, a total of 42 million tons of construction rubble were collected in 2020.
With over 16 million tonnes collected and 280 locations, Paprec plays an essential role in the entire waste management sector in France and Switzerland.
