Just days before the first race of the NASCAR Cup Series in early June, two of the leading circuits in the St. Louis area are coming together for a special event.

The Cup Time StL Short Track Classic will take place on June 3rd at the Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach. It is an event that is sponsored by World Wide Technology Raceway (WWTR) in Madison – formerly known as Gateway Motorsports Park.

The event will be attended by the top two divisions that compete in dirt races: late model cars and sprint cars. WWTR spokesman John Bisci said this was a natural addition.

Tickets for the race will be sold through the WWTR ticket office and packaged for buyers of the NASCAR Truck Series event on June 4th and the first NASCAR Cup Series event on June 5th. The event is expected to be sold out.
